Within just a few days of their exit from the ODI World Cup 2023, the Pakistan cricket team has suffered a huge blow continuously as a lot of their team management members have resigned from their positions. Pakistan had a poor performance throughout the ODI World Cup 2023 and failed to qualify for the semifinals of the tournament.
Just a few days after their exit, the Pakistan cricket board’s chief selector Inzamam Ul Haq resigned who was just appointed before the squad selection of the ODI World Cup 2023. The Pakistan cricket board has fired the rest of the members of the selection committee while the South African fast bowler Morne Morkel has resigned from the position of the team’s bowling coach.
Reportedly the Pakistan Cricket Board will hold an emergency meeting to hire new employees as they recently made a shocking decision to fire all the foreign coaches involved in the team management. This includes Pakistan’s head coach Grant Bradburn, the team director Mickey Arthur, and batting coach Andrew Puttick.
Amid the reports of firing multiple people from the team management, numerous reports and sources were claiming that the Pakistan cricket board is in talks to sack Babar Azam from captaincy after Pakistan’s poor performance in the ODI World Cup 2023.
Zaka Ashraf and Younis Khan to hire Shahid Afridi as the head of selection committee
As per reports, Pakistan Cricket Board’s chief Zaka Ashraf is expected to conduct a meeting with the team’s former captain Younis Khan to make valuable decisions for Pakistan and announce the final decision on Tuesday, 14th November.
As per multiple reports, the Pakistan cricket board is looking to hire the team’s former cricketers who have performed exceptionally well in the game throughout the years. Pakistan’s firing all-rounder Shahid Afridi is expected to be appointed as the head of the selection committee.
While former captain Younis Khan is expected to be appointed as the batting coach. It has also been reported that Umar Gul will replace Morne Morkel as the team’s bowling coach for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 which will be conducted in the USA and West Indies.
