Sanju Samson has once again been ignored by the Indian Cricket Team management that included stand-in skipper Hardik Pandya. He was anticipated to be playing in the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand. After the first game in Wellington was washed out, the fans were eagerly waiting to see him play for India again. Not to forget, he has been an in-form player with the bat in the last few months.

However, the team management has still persisted with Rishabh Pant, who hasn’t enjoyed his time in the shortest format. Also, he is opening the batting which Samson might have done. Also, the team has inducted the likes of Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Hooda, who weren’t part of the playing squad during the 20-20 World Cup 2022. The fans have expressed their anger on Twitter.

A lot of them are bashing India Cricket Team management for doing ‘injustice’ against the Keralite.

Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant opening the batting after the 2016

Notably, the duo opened the batting during the 2016 U19 World Cup in Bangladesh. The left-handed duo played some brilliant innings in the tournament. The team played the final of the tournament after being unbeaten. In the summit clash, both batters got out early and the team lost the game to West Indies.

After six years, the duo is opening the batting. Kishan is batting on 13 off 10 balls including a four and a six. On the other hand, Pant has scored five off nine balls including a four. The Men In Blue have scored 27 runs in 3.2 overs at the time of writing. It will be interesting to see if this experiment works for the team. Talking about the game, the Blackcaps have won the toss and elected to bowl first.
