Star India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin received a last-minute call for the tournament. Replacing all-rounder Axar Patel, Ashwin brings a lot of experience to the team. He has participated in two World Cups till now, including 2011’s triumph. In 10 matches at the biggest stage, he has taken 17 wickets at an average of less than 24.

With an age of more than 37 years, Ashwin is the oldest player in the Indian squad. He is followed by skipper Rohit Sharma, batter Virat Kohli, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, and pacer Mohammad Shami. They all might be playing their last ODI World Cup and will be keen to win it for India.
