Asia Cup 2023 kicks on 30th August as Pakistan faces Nepal in the opening game. India will not play any of the games in Pakistan as the major part of the tournament will be hosted by Sri Lanka.

The focus of the fans will be on the big game that is to be played on Saturday. India and Pakistan lock horns in the biggest game of Asia Cup 2023 on 2nd September. Mohammad Shami the 32-year-old pace bowler is in the news.

Mohammad Shami went in for a hair transplant just before the Asia Cup 2023 could begin. Shami turns 33 years old a day after the India versus Pakistan encounter is to be played. The right-arm pacer has always been the talk of the town as far as his hairline is concerned.

Mohammad Shami thanks the staff after the process 

Once the entire hair transplant process was done, Mohammad Shami was quick to thank the staff. The 32-year-old pacer was quoted as saying “Overall, I felt really good because treatment is one thing, but the behavior of the staff and the treatment process – everything was very good and all of them were very supportive.

Mohammad Shami will be looked at as a key bowler for India in the coming few months. The right-arm pacer will not only be a key figure for the 2023 Asia Cup but also for the upcoming ODI World Cup. Shami, last played for India during the World Test Championships final and was then rested for the entire tour of West Indies.

Shami has just played one Asia Cup which was way back in 2014 held in Bangladesh. In the 4 games he played in that tournament, Shami picked 9 wickets. His best of 4/50 came against, Bangladesh in the 1st game of the tournament. The pacer from Bengal did not play the 2018 Asia Cup which India won under Rohit Sharma.

Mohammad Shami has played 90 ODI games so far and picked 162 wickets. His best of 5/69 is his only ODI five-wicket haul. Interestingly, Mohammad Shami made his ODI debut against Pakistan in 2013. Shami has played 3 ODI games against Pakistan and picked 5 wickets. His best of 4/35 against the men in green came during the 2015 ODI World Cup game in Adelaide.
