WATCH: Bangladesh cricketer Mohammad Naim Sheikh’s fire walk for mind training

The Asia Cup 2023 is approaching the start date. The tournament will feature some of the best One Day Internationals teams in the world like India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Many of these teams are in the last stage of preparation for the tournament. In the upcoming few days, all the teams are likely to announce their final squad for the tournament.  

The 2023 Asia Cup will not just act as a great tournament at stake, but will also act as a platform where the Asian teams can prepare for the 2023 ODI World Cup. The players are hence trying different ways to prepare for the big tournaments ahead of them. The young Bangladeshi opener Mohammad Naim has chosen the harder path of fire to practice for the tournament.   

Incredible ‘Mind-training’ practice method

The video of the Dhaka South-born cricketer became viral on the internet where the 23-year-old was seen walking on the fire as per the instructions. In the spine-chilling video, the youngster was seen casually walking on the fire, as the people around Naim cheered his efforts. Reportedly, the practice was done the way it was to train the mind of the young cricketer.  

The 2023 Asia Cup will be played in the hybrid model, as Pakistan is the official host of the tournament. The Indian cricket board rejected t tour Pakistan for playing the tournament in their land. Instead, the rich board brought forward the hybrid model, where the Indian matches are to be played in Sri Lanka. The Hybrid model got approved eventually and the Indian matches will be played in the island country.  

On the 30th of August, the tournament will start with a match between Pakistan and Nepal in Multan. On the 2nd of September, the high-voltage clash between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan will take place in Kandy. Pakistan has the right to host three group stage matches and one Super 4 stage match. The remaining matches of the tournament will be played in Sri Lanka. The final of the tournament will happen in Colombo.
