‘Pakistan Aapne ghabraanaa Nahin hai !!’ – Fans Go Outrageous After India Defeat Pakistan In A Nail-bitter In Asia Cup 2022

Team India kicked off their Asia Cup campaign on 28 August 2022. They took on arch-rivals Pakistan in the competition. However, both the teams dealt massive blows as their players got injured. Jasprit Bumrah got ruled out of the competition due to his back injury. On the other hand, Pakistan missed Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohamamd Wasim Jr. from the squad due to their knee and side strain injuries.

Hence, both the teams put a strong playing XI despite not having these names. Rohit Sharma won the toss and he elected to bowl first. However, he shared a shocking decision as India excluded Rishabh Pant from the playing XI. They showed faith in veteran wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik over him. On the other hand, Pakistan did not include Hasan Ali in their line-up. They handed a debut to Naseem Shah ahead of this mega clash.

India won the match by five wickets against Pakistan

Speaking about the match, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan came out to open the innings for Pakistan. But, Indian bowlers started well as they took the first wicket in the third over only. Babar Azam scored only 10 runs off nine balls. Other batters chipped in with some contribution as Pakistan managed only 147 runs in 19.5 overs. India took all 10 wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the star of the show. He picked up four wickets by conceding 26 runs in four overs. Along with him, Hardik Pandya took three wickets for 25 runs in his four overs.

In reply, the Indian batter failed to start well. Pakistan’s Naseem Shah bowled a great debut over. He took the wicket of KL Rahul. Rahul went for a golden duck in the first match of the Asia Cup 2022. Then, Kohli came out to bat and tried to stitch up a partnership with the Indian skipper. However, India reached 62 runs by losing three wickets in the first 10 overs. Rohit scored only 12 runs while Virat scored 35 runs off 34 balls. After that, Suryakumar Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja tried to stable the innings. But, Yadav lost his wicket after scoring 18 runs. In 15 overs, India scored 97 runs by losing four wickets. But, Hardik Pandya held the nerves as he remained unbeaten after scoring 33* runs off 17 balls only. Thus, India won the match by five wickets with two balls to spare.
