Partially vaccinated fans allowed for IND vs NZ first T20I in Jaipur
India are set to host New Zealand for a three-match T20I series. The series will start on November 17 in Jaipur, with the matches to follow on November 19 and 21 in Ranchi and Kolkata. New Zealand will also play two Tests on the tour.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCB) has permitted fans with at least one COVID-19 vaccine shot to watch the match from the stadium. The fans will have to follow all the COVID-19 protocols such as wearing a mask and using sanitisers while being present in the stadium.
“According to guidelines issued by the state government, spectators should follow COVID appropriate behaviour like mandatory use of masks, sanitisation, thermal screening, proper ventilation and vaccination with at least one dose of covid vaccine by all spectators, staff and players,” Sharma added.
“To discuss various issues and tasks related to preparations before the organisation of the match, a meeting of the Organising Committee constituted for the organisation of the match will be held on November 10 at 4 PM at RCA academy,” he further said.
BCCI recently announced the squad for the T20I series. Some senior players including the likes of Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja were rested for the series. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharna has been named the skipper for the series, with KL Rahul as his deputy. The series will also be the first assignment of Rahul Dravid as full-time India head coach.
