Pat Cummins hits back at Justin Langer for his ‘cowards’ remark
Recently, former Australia head coach Justin Langer expressed his anger over getting feedback on him from the media. He expressed his disappointment as he claimed that the ‘player claimed to be Ok with his style of coaching’. On the other hand, the Australian media had repeatedly reported that the players weren’t his style of work. Apparently, when Langer was offered a short-term contract in February this year, he resigned.
Meanwhile, Australia is set to host the West Indies for a two-match Test series. The first game will start on November 30 in Perth. Ahead of the game, Australia Test skipper Pat Cummins has replied to Langer’s comments. The right-arm pacer said that there are no cowards in the team and he won’t reveal the conversations between him and Langer.
“There’s no cowards in an Australian cricket team, not ever,” he told reporters on Tuesday. “I’d probably never disclose private conversations. I think it’s disappointing sometimes the focus gets drawn to off-field issues but it hasn’t really affected our team.”
I think there’s no ill will in Justin Langer’s statements: Pat Cummins
Notably, the 51-year-old, Langer, gave out clarification for his statements and said that the players “like my younger brothers”. In response, the Australia Test skipper maintained that Langer had no ill will while making those statements.
