PCB issues clarification around Indian visas for players ahead of ODI World Cup 2023

In the last few days, the uncertainty around visas for Pakistan players has finally come to an end. The ODI World Cup 2023 will start on October 5 and before this, the teams will play Warm-up games from September 29 to October 3. Talking about the Green Brigade, they will play New Zealand on the 29th and Australia on the 3rd Oct. Meanwhile, PCB has issued a statement regarding the visa controversy.
In the statement, the board specified that they applied for the visas on September 19, two days after India’s Asia Cup 2023 win. The board added that despite applying last, the Indian Cricket Board and the government have helped them get visas on September 25 as promised. They also thanked the Indian Cricket Board secretaryJay Shah for his help and support.
On the other hand, in another news, an Indian government official has also said that the Pakistan side was expected to get the visa on September 25.
“Ministry of Home Affairs gives security clearance for issue of visas,” an Indian government spokesperson told ESPNcricinfo. “The process is underway.” The PCB is expected to receive the passports with visas for its squad on Monday evening.
