PGL CS2 RMR Decider; Stage 2 overview
Three teams faced each other in the showdown of the European RMR Decider. 9Pandas, who were holding the Highest score in stage 1 secured a direct spot for the final match. Guild Eagles and GamerLegion faced each other in the semifinals.
9Pandas will now be joining the other 16 European CS teams for the PGL Major in Copenhagen.
Semi-finals Round 1
As expected, the matches in the Last Chance Qualifier were intense, with all teams giving their best for the final spot. Guild Eagles faced GamerLegion in the semis. While they were not able to take them down, they did not win easily to GamerLegion.
The first match took place on Vertigo, with a decent first half with GamerLegion on a slight advantage. The second half also went a similar way. However, the early advantage helped GamerLegion defeat the Guild Eagles.
This brought us to the second map in Mirage Pickle by Guild Eagles. For what feels like a CT-sided map, both teams gave their best on the T side. GamerLegion secured only 4 rounds in the first half, while Guild Eagles secured 8 playing on the T side.
Things were looking great for Guild Eagles, however, they also messed up the CT side led GamerLegion to their second victory. With this win, the team moved to the final match.
Finals Round 2
The final match saw GamerLegion with a good start, although 9Pandas did not make it easy considering it was GamerLegion’s map pick. However, 9Pandas equalized the score with a win on the second map, leading the RMR decider to the decider map.
The decider match was played on Nuke, which was again an intense battle. 9Pandas started strong, but GamerLegion started making a comeback with some of the most intense moments. However, it wasn’t enough as the team fell 1 round short of going to overtime.
