PM Imran Khan makes a bizarre statement on inflation in Pakistan, says ‘didn’t join politics to know price of aloo, tamatar’
Cricket is undoubtedly the most popular game in the South Asian region. India, being the world dominator in the game enjoy a lot of attention in the region. But other countries like Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh also draw their share of cricketing attention. The youngsters of these nations dream of being professional cricketers, idolizing the stars from their respective countries.
Former Pakistan all-rounder Imran Khan is a legend among the cricket fraternity. He was one of the prime factors for the nation’s only World Cup-winning effort in 1992. In 88 Tests that Imran Khan played for Pakistan, he scored 3807 runs at an average of 37.69, and this was not his main trade also. Mainly known for his bowling prowess, he picked up 362 test wickets at an average of 22.62. In ODIs, he picked up 182 wickets in 175 matches and also scored 3709 runs with the bat.
After his successful cricket career, Imran Khan turned to politics. He is currently the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Recently Imran Khan was accused of mismanaging the economy. To answer this, Imran Khan came up with a bizarre statement where he stated that he did not become the Prime Minister to check the prices of ‘aloo, tamatar.’
In his opinion, he has taken up the responsibility for the youth of the nation. He also stated that there is no personal gain for him in the post as he has already achieved everything. The Pakistani Prime Minister is known for his controversial statements, this adds one more to that tally.
