‘Proud of you, Tigers’- Twitter erupts as Bangladesh stuns SA in ODI series
Bangladesh defeated South Africa in the third match of the ODI series to complete a historic series win in the rainbow nation. This is their first series win over South Africa in their home ground.
South Africa batted first in the match after winning the toss. Taskin Ahmed was brilliant with the ball as he picked up a fifer, conceding just 35 runs in 9 overs. South Africa put up a total of 154 runs on the board.
Bangladesh’s chase was led by the skipper Tamim Iqbal, who scored 87 runs as the team won by 9 wickets in the 27th over of the innings. Taskin Ahmed won the Player of the Match as well as the Player of the Series for his brilliant bowling performance throughout the series.
With the victory in the third and final match of the series, Bangladesh completed the series win over South Africa by a margin of 2-1. Fans took to Twitter after the historic win and expressed their excitement.
Bangladeshi fans were seen sharing memes mentioning India’s defeat against South Africa in the ODI series earlier this year. They also did not forget to mention the fact that Indians went to New Zealand and got defeated there in the Test series, but Bangladesh earned a victory there, and the same happened in South Africa in ODIs.
Bangladesh have created history at Supersport Park. It's their first victory in South Africa. Few days back they won a test match in New Zealand. Surely thses victories would boost their confidence. #BANvsSA pic.twitter.com/cms6BNVSEt
