PSG pushed by Kylian Mbappe to sign young Manchester United target
According to reports, Kylian Mbappe is pressuring Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to sign Randal Kolo Muani, a target of Manchester United. Express Sport said that the recently anointed France captain is a tremendous fan of his countryman and wants him to play at Parc des Princes.
For Manchester United, who have apparently identified the Frenchman as a potential target for the summer, PSG’s interest in Kolo Muani could be bad news. Erik ten Hag, the manager of the Red Devils, is rumoured to be in a hurry to recruit a new striker to take some of the pressure off of Marcus Rashford. Having already scored 29 goals in 50 appearances this season, the England international is having his finest career season.
PSG are looking for an overhaul to trim wage bills
Bruno Fernandes is the Red Devils’ second-highest scorer with 10 goals across all competitions, but they desperately need another goal scorer in their ranks. Along with Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur and Victor Osimhen of Napoli, Ten Hag is rumoured to be interested in signing Kolo Muani.
Since moving from Nantes to Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer last summer, Kolo Muani has thrived in the Bundesliga powerhouse’s colours. In 40 appearances across tournaments for the Bundesliga team this season, the versatile attacker has 20 goals and 14 assists. Frankfurt reportedly would be willing to sell their star striker for a cost of £88 million.
PSG needs to reduce their pay cost; hence, they are believed to be interested in overhauling their team this summer. With his contract set to expire, Lionel Messi is rumoured to be leaving the Ligue 1 winners, while Neymar’s future is also uncertain.
According to Football Insider, Chelsea and Manchester United will compete for Achraf Hakimi of PSG in the summer. PSG is reportedly willing to sell the right-back for £50–60 million. Chelsea has already signed Malo Gusto to replace Reece James, but the Blues are worried about the Englishman’s injury issues. Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot struggle to make an impression regularly; therefore, Manchester United is also interested in acquiring a right-back.
