Kagiso Rabada has been on an absolute roll on the first day of the first Test match against India at SuperSport Park in Centurion. On an overcast morning, the star pacer gave a terrific start for the home side by getting the big wicket of Rohit Sharma. The spell of the pacer reduced India to a score of 25/3 in no time. It was a great exhibition of seam bowling.

The right-arm quick was again at the batters soon after the lunch break. India was going good at 96/3 when Shreyas Iyer and Virat Kohli played some shots. That was when Rabada delivered a couple of peaches to break the partnership between the two middle-order batters. The right-arm pacer further dismissed the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Shardul Thakur to achieve huge milestones.

The South African pacer registered a well-deserved five-wicket haul towards the end of the second session of the first day. In his spell of 15 overs, Rabada bowled 3 maiden overs and conceded only 41 runs with the ball. He claimed 5 wickets and had India at 176/7 at the end of the 50th over, which marked the end of the second session. Rabada celebrated the milestone with a huge smile.

Kagiso Rabada claims 500th international wicket

As Rabada claimed a fifer on the first day, he also achieved the milestone of claiming 500 or more wickets in international cricket. The 28-year-old has 285 wickets currently in Test cricket alone, which is a great achievement. In the ODI World Cup 2023, Rabada was assigned a different role in South Africa. Unlike the usual role of leading the attack, Rabada was mostly a first-change bowler in the ODI WC 2023.

As a bowler, Rabada is known for his wicket-taking abilities. The seam bowler has the best bowling SR for a bowler with more than 250 wickets in Test cricket. At the moment, the South African is the only pacer to have a bowling SR of less than 40 in the longest format of the game with a minimum of 275 wickets in the format.
