Ross Taylor is known as a versatile batter from New Zealand. He is also one of the most decorated players in New Zealand cricket history. He has played for several franchises in the Indian T20 League also. However, he last played in this league in 2014. Now, he came up with a shocking revelation from his Indian T20 stint.
The veteran kiwi batter shared an unthinkable incident involving his franchise owners in 2011. However, the incident has been captured in a book named ‘Ross Taylor: Black & White’ written by Paul Thomas. In that book, Taylor shared his experience of playing with Shane Warne and the moment when he became a millionaire for the Indian T20 League.

Speaking of his Indian T20 League days, Taylor shared a shocking incident from 2011. In 2011, he was representing the Rajasthan franchise. He said that he scored a duck in a match against Punjab in Mohali. Rajasthan was chasing a huge target of 195 runs in that match. When he came back to the dugout, the franchise owner slapped him three-four times.
Taylor said: “Rajasthan owner slapped me 3-4 times when I got out for a duck in 2011 Indian T20 League match in Mohali and said ‘we didn’t pay you a million to get out on a duck’ and laughed.” However, he also shared that those slaps were not hard. But, still, he did not see it coming in a professional sporting environment.
Taylor added: “It wasn’t hard slaps, but I couldn’t imagine it happening in professional sporting environments”. Speaking of his Indian T20 Leagues, he has represented six different franchises from 2008 to 2014. He played 59 matches where Taylor scored 958 runs at an average of 25.89. During that timeline, he was known for his swashbuckling batting abilities in the middle order. Meanwhile, speaking of his international career, Taylor played 450 matches across all three formats. He scored 18199 runs including 93 fifties and 40 hundred.
