The Indian T20 League 2022 journey has been one memorable one for the Rajasthan franchise. 14 years after winning their maiden title in the inaugural season of the tournament, they were once again strongly in contention for lifting the trophy. Rajasthan made it to the final of the 15th edition of the tournament, where they faced the most clinical team of the tournament, Gujarat.

Although Gujarat won the final quite comfortably and Rajasthan’s dreams of lifting the trophy for the second time were shattered, the tournament will be a memorable one for them for some great individual performances. Excellent displays on the field by players like Jos Buttler and Yuzvendra Chahal will be etched in the memories of the fans for a long time. While Buttler scored 863 runs in the tournament and finished as the highest run-scorer, Chahal picked up 27 wickets for the team and finished as the highest wicket-taker.

The season was also special for the team as they attempted to win the trophy and pay the perfect tribute to Shane Warne. Notably, Warne is considered the first ‘Royal’ of the team. It was under his leadership that Rajasthan won the inaugural season of the Indian T20 League defying all odds, with a team having no so-called big names in the squad.

As the campaign finished for Men in Pink, the team is now dispersing for their respective national duties. The Rajasthan team’s official Twitter handle is considered one of the most active ones on the site. On 3rd June, they posted a video of the squad members bidding farewell to each other. In the 47-second clip, all the players were hugging each other and bidding farewell. They would like to keep the memories of the wonderful season in their minds for a long time. The video also featured players like Prasidh Krishna, Devdutt Padikkal, and Obed McCoy leaving a signing-off message for the fans and supporters. The post was captioned – “Goodbyes are always difficult when it’s family.”
