Ravi Bishnoi reportedly to play for Gujarat in upcoming Domestic season
Ravi Bishnoi is one of the promising youngsters that came out from the Under-19 setup of Team India. Currently, he has made his debut for the senior Men in Blue team and is a part of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL. But, reports have come out that Bishnoi might leave Rajasthan and play for Gujarat in the upcoming domestic season.
The young spinner himself shared an image on his Instagram story where he was seen wearing a jersey of the Gujarat Cricket Association. He also wrote: ‘New Beginning’ with a red heart emoji. So, that social media activity left fans surprised. However, he had a good IPL 2023 for LSG with the ball.
Here is the image of the shared Instagram story:
Ravi Bishnoi made his Rajasthan debut in 2019
In 15 matches, he took 16 wickets, at an economy of 7.74 and an average of 24.44. India’s domestic season will kick off with Deodhar Trophy as the tournament is all set to begin on 28 June 2023. After that, Deodhar Trophy will take place while Ranji Trophy will begin on 5 January 2024. Meanwhile, no official announcement has been made by the Gujarat Cricket Association. As quoted by the Sportstar, one official said that nothing has been decided yet. In the last Ranji season, Bishnoi did not have many opportunities for Rajasthan.
So, as per reports, due to a lack of game time, Bishnoi has decided to leave Rajasthan. He even is currently in Ahmedabad in the pre-season camp of the Gujarat team. He made his Rajasthan debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in February 2019. In five List A games, he took seven wickets while in 24 T20s, he picked up 32 wickets. For India, Bishnoi has played 10 T20Is so far. In those games, he has taken 16 wickets, at an economy of 7.08 and an average of 17.12. Meanwhile, the LSG spinner has played only one ODI so far. In that game against South Africa, he took one wicket for 69 runs in eight overs.
