3. Glenn maxwell’s hot and cold form: Glenn Maxwell’s brilliant exploits with the bat in the Indian T20 League 2022 were the reason Bangalore retained him for a heft price of INR 11 Cr. But he failed to translate his brilliant form from the previous season into the 15th edition of the tournament. He scored 513 runs in the 2021 edition at an average of 42.75 and a strike rate of 144.10. But in the latest edition of the tournament, he scored 301 runs at an average of 27.36.
Maxwell played a few good knocks in some matches but the major concern was his lack of consistency. This also rendered the Bangalore middle-order weak and hence on a few occasions Faf’s men failed to capitalize on some good starts. Maxwell’s lack of consistency was definitely a reason Bangalore failed to win the trophy this year.
