Remaining games of Legends League Cricket to be staged behind closed doors
In what comes as breaking news, the remaining games of the ongoing Legends League Cricket (LLC) is all set to be played behind closed doors. This decision was taken by the organizers due to the sudden rise in the number of COVID-19 cases.
The league featuring retired cricketers had started on January 20, and saw crowds in the stadium for the first three days. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced the league to now take place without spectators for the remainder of the tournament. This league, which features several legends, is being held in Muscat (Oman).
However, the next game is going to feature the Asia Lions and India Maharajas battling it out. In the meanwhile, the LLC team took to social media to announce this, and released a statement that said the same. They also mentioned the fact that they regret the inconvenience caused.
“Due to the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases and government regulation, we have decided to put a hold on the ticket sales and the matches will be held without the spectators with immediate effect. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted,” read the statement posted by the organizers.
“A refund for all tickets purchased will be made. All the ticket holders would be sent information of their refund through their respective ticketing platforms. The amount will be initiated within 7-10 working days,” they concluded. However, the tournament so far has been an absolute success, to say the least.
All the three teams, i.e. Asia Lions, India Maharajas and World Giants have looked strong so far, and all the three games which have been playing have turned out to be high-scoring thrillers. So far, all the three teams have played two games, and have won one each. Thus, the remaining games in the LLC are expected to be entertaining as well.
