After having a poor Asia Cup campaign, India kicked off their three-match home T20I series against Australia on 20 September 2022. In the Asia Cup 2022, India started well. But, they failed to qualify for the final after losing two matches in the ‘Super Four’ stage. However, it will be a huge test for Rohit Sharma and his men ahead of the 20-20 World Cup.
Speaking about Rohit Sharma, he also did not have a good Asia Cup tournament as an individual batter. In four matches, he scored 133 runs at an average of 33.25. Apart from one inning against Sri Lanka, he failed to give a good start to India while opening the innings. Therefore, fans were hoping to see him in full action again in this series against the Aussies.

Speaking about the match, Australian skipper Aaron Finch won the toss and he asked India to bat first. The first match took place in Mohali. For India, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma came out to open the innings. However, Australian bowlers started the match with good line and length against India. However, Rohit managed to open his account with a six in the match.
But, he fell to score big once again as he lost his wicket after scoring 11 runs only. He faced only nine balls where he hit one four and one six. His wicket gave an early setback to India in the first match against Australia. After his another disappointing outing with the bat, fans were not happy at all. They got angry as they started to share their views on his failure. Even, some fans started to raise their voice to leave him from the World Cup squad only. Some fans also wrote that he should take retirement now from this format for India’s better outcomes.
