Results Of India’s Events On Day 9 Of Commonwealth Games 2022
Day 9 of the Commonwealth Games 2022 was another action-packed day for India. Many athletes were fighting for grabbing more glory for India. However, Indian fans did not get disappointed as the country won a whopping 14 medals (4 gold, 3 silver, 7 bronze) on Day 9. Thus, India has now grabbed a total number of 40 medals (13 gold, 11 silver, and 16 bronze) across various events.
It was another day for the boxers and wrestlers who showed their dominance. Apart from them, Indian athletes entered the finals of Cricket, Hockey, and Boxing also. In Badminton, three shuttlers made it to the Semi-finals ahead of Day 10 of this mega event. Hence, on Day 10, Indian fans will hope for more glory from them in this year’s Commonwealth Games.

Lawn Bowls
In Men’s Fours final, India won the silver medal by losing against Northern Island (5-18).
Para Table Tennis
Raj Aravind Alagar failed to win the bronze for India. On the other hand, Sonalben Manubhai Patel and Bhavina Hasmukhbhai Patel won a bronze and a gold medal respectively in Women’s Singles.
Wrestling
Vinesh Phogat (53 KG), Ravi Kumar Dahiya (57 KG), and Naveen Kumar (74 KG) won three gold medals in their respective categories. Along with them, Pooja Sihag (76KG), Deepak Nehra (97KG), and Pooja Gehlot (50 KG) won three bronze medals.
Athletics and Para Athletics
India women’s 4x100m relay team qualified for the finals. But, in the Women’s Para Shot Put finals, Poonam Sharma (7th), Sharmila (4th), and Santosh (8th) failed to grab any medal. However, in the Women’s 10,000m Race Walk Final, Bhawna Jat finished 8th. Manju Bala finished 12th in the Women’s Hammer Throw Final.
Meanwhile, Priyanka Goswami won the silver medal in the Women’s 10,000m Race Walk Final. Along with her, Avinash Sable won the silver medal in Men’s 3000m Steeplechase Final. But, he failed to finish in Men’s 5000m Final.
Boxing
Jaismine Lamboria (60 KG), Rohit Tokas (63.5-67 KG), and Mohammad Hussamuddin (54-57 KG) managed three bronze medals for India after losing their Semi-finals. On the other side, Nitu Ghanghas, Amit Panghal, Nikhat Zareen, and Sagar reached the finals in their respective categories.

Table Tennis
The pair of Sharath Kamal and G Sathiyan qualified for the finals of men’s doubles. While Sharath and Sreeja Akula also secure a final berth in the mixed doubles finals. However, Manika Batra and Diya Chitale lost the women’s doubles quarterfinal.
Cricket
India Women qualified for the finals by defeating England by four runs.
Hockey
India men’s team defeated South Africa (3-2) to enter the final.
Badminton
PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen, and Kidambi Srikanth qualified for the Semi-finals.
Squash
Senthilkumar Velavan/Abhay Singh and Pallikal Karthik Dipika/Ghosal Sourav lost in Men’s Doubles Quarter-Finals and Mixed Doubles Semi-Finals respectively.
