‘Rohit Kohli ko bithaao’ – Fans react as India announce T20I squad for series against Afghanistan

India has announced its squad for the series against Afghanistan in T20Is. the series will witness the comeback of some of the biggest names in the format. The likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be playing T20Is for the first time in 14 months. The two batters last played a T20I match in the World Cup 2022. It was the last game for many other players as well.
In the game against England in the semifinal of the tournament, the two players had played their last game. This will be the first T20I series involving the two batters since then. Along with them, the Indian squad features some other quality players as well. The side has some talented youngsters like Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal both of whom are likely to compete for a spot as the second opener.
In the middle order, India has some of the most talented batters like Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube, Jitesh Sharma, and Sanju Samson. Two of them are capable of keeping the wickets and three others are capable of bowling. It produces perfect balance for the side. India has gone with two spin-bowling All-rounders for the series against Afghanistan.

Indian bowling does not witness change
The likes of Axar Patel and Washington Sundar are trusted to deliver the goods as All-rounders. It is interesting to note that both of them are spinners by nature with the ball and can finish the innings. With the ball, India seems to have not worried much about getting the pacers back into the side. The players who represented the side in the T20Is against South Africa and Australia continue in the series.
The likes of Mukesh Kumar, Avesh Khan, and Arshdeep Singh will be the pace trio for the entire series. Along with them, the two spinners picked in the squad are Kuldeep Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi. Both the spinners offer different varieties. Both of them can spin the ball either way, but bowl from different hands.
