Rohit Sharma Hilariously Takes A Dig At Pragyan Ojha
After white-washing West Indies in the three-match ODI series, India will kick off the five-match T20I series on 29 July 2022. India’s regular skipper, Rohit Sharma will be back in action for this series. Hence, on the eve of the series opener, Rohit came out for a pre-match press conference.
However, the Indian skipper looked relaxed when he was asked about the team’s balance ahead of this series. However, after the ODI series, former India player Pragyan Ojha made a remark about Shikhar Dhawan’s relationship with Rohit. Regarding that, Rohit Sharma came up with a shocking reaction.
“Pragyan Ojha? Is he doing commentary now?” – Rohit Sharma
Speaking to journalists at the pre-match press conference, Rohit Sharma said that pressure is always there on players in the international arena. Thus, they need to reduce pressure by performing well. He said: “Yes there are some spots which we want to fill, and we know what we have to do to fill them up. We have to give freedom to our boys, you just go and play and play the way you want to.”
He added: “We can always tell them how to prepare in the nets, but during the match, they must be given that freedom. Play your game as you play in the franchisees or for your state teams. You don’t take that sort of pressure there, so don’t take pressure now. Of course, there is pressure in international cricket, but this is our job is to reduce that pressure. And eliminate that pressure,”
Meanwhile, Pragyan Ojha told recently that Shikhar Dhawan might get a chance ahead of others in the upcoming 50-over World Cup in 2023. The Indian skipper backs him a lot. They share a great bond between them as they have been opening innings together for the country for such a long time. Now, regarding that remarks, Rohit Sharma gave a surprising reply. “Pragyan? Is he doing commentary now? See, when we play we try, not only Shikhar and I, all of them want that they understand each other. And that understanding turns into a great friendship off the field.” Rohit concluded.
