‘Sab k apne nakhray hai’ – Fans divided as Shoaib Akhtar terminates his association with his biopic ‘Rawalpindi Express’
Former Pakistan speedster, Shoaib Akhtar has disassociated himself from his biopic. He took to Twitter to announce the development. Last year, the former speedster announced the same film on the platform. After this, fans across the globe were looking forward to watching the film on his life. The film, ‘Rawalpindi Express’ was set to be released in November this year.
However, 11 months ahead of the release, the Rawalpindi player announced his discontinuation with the film. The right-arm pacer started that by saying that he is sad to announce the development. The 47-year-old revealed that he was thinking about this in the last few months. Akhtar further added that he and the makers of the film had major disagreements.
Severe legal action will be taken if the film is continued: Shoaib Akhtar
The former Surrey player has threatened the makers of the film that if the film is continued, a case will be registered against them. Shoaib sadi that the right of portraying his life has been revoked.
“Very sadly, I would like to inform all of you that after careful consideration of months, I have decided to disassociate myself from the film “Rawalpindi Express” & its makers by terminating the agreement through my management and legal team. Definitely, it was a dream project and I tried a lot to prevent and stay in the boat, but unfortunately, things were not going well,” Akhtar wrote on his official Twitter handle.
“Failure to resolve disagreements amicably and constant contractual violations finally resulted in us cut ties with them. Therefore I have left the project after complying all legal protocols of revoking the rights to the story of my life,” he added.
“Severe legal action will be taken if the makers continue to make biography film and use my name and life story events in any way,” Shoaib’s tweet concluded.
