Pakistan’s Ahmed Shehzad was considered the Virat Kohli of Pakistan as their people rated him higher. He also played in the Under 19 World Cup in 2008 for Pakistan along with India’s Virat Kohli.
In his early career, Shehzad scored a lot of runs. But, once he lost his form, he did not manage to make a solid comeback into the National set-up. Now, this former Pakistan batter opened up about the lack of support from his seniors during such a period.
He also opened up on not having any support from his seniors like MS Dhoni helped Virat Kohli during his bad patches for runs. He also credited it as the reason for Virat’s success throughout his career.
Speaking in an interview with Cricket Pakistan, he said that the seniors can not digest the success of youngsters in Pakistan. He said: “I have said this before and I will say it again, Kohli’s career picked off amazingly because he found MS Dhoni but unfortunately, here in Pakistan, your own people cannot stand your success,”
He compared his career with the Indian batter, Virat Kohli who is known as the best batter in the last decade around the globe. He also added: “Our own senior players and ex-cricketers cannot digest seeing someone succeed in the cricketing world, which is unfortunate for Pakistan cricket,” He termed that the lack of support from the seniors is unfortunate for the Pakistan cricket.
Shehzad also accused his teammates of planning to sack him from the Pakistan Team. “Some of my teammates tried to associate my name with Umar Akmal by planning to give a negative impression regarding me. This was a pre-planned approach and they wanted to kill two birds with one stone. I will not say their name but I will not make this public. It started from within the team,” he concluded. However, his own comparison with Kohli did not go well for fans as they took up their Twitter accounts to share their hilarious and angry views on it.

Virat debuted in 2008 and during 2011 WC he was ranked no 3 in ODI’s. Perform to kiya hi hoga warna itna upar kaise aata ranking me. Since then, he has always been in top 3 in ODI’s till today. Not sure what failure shehzad means. Yes, Rohit was given lot of chances for years.
