 Second T20I Match Between India And West Indies Gets Delayed Due To This Bizarre Reason

After winning the five-match T20I series opener against West Indies on 29 July 2022, India is going to face them for the second match on 1 August 2022 at Warner Park in St Kitts. As per schedule, this match was going to start at 8 PM IST. But, due to a bizarre reason, now the match is going to start at 10 PM instead.

The West Indies Cricket Board also confirmed the news by realizing an official statement on their Twitter account. They also came up with a regret to fans for the unavoidable convenience caused to the fans, and all other stakeholders.

Speaking of the reason, the West Indies confirmed that the match will be delayed due to the non-arrival of team luggage into St Kitts from Trinidad. In the statement, they said: “Due to circumstances beyond CWI’s control, there have been significant delays in crucial team luggage arriving into St Kitts from Trinidad,”

They also added their regret to fans, sponsors, broadcast partners, and all other stakeholders. Along with it, they also confirmed the revised time for the match. They said: “As a result, today’s match 2nd Goldmedal T20 Cup match is due to start at 12:30 pm (11:30 am Jamaica/10 pm India). CWI regrets any inconvenience caused to our valued fans, sponsors, broadcast partners, and all other stakeholders,”

However, they said that the stadium gates will open at 10 am local time for ticket holders. Speaking of the series, India won the first match with ease by a margin of 68 runs. While batting first, India scored 190 runs in 20 overs. In reply, West Indies managed only 122 runs in 20 overs by losing eight wickets. India’s veteran wicketkeeper, Dinesh Karthik was the player of the match. He scored 41* runs off 119 balls only, including four boundaries and two sixes at a strike rate of 215.78.
