Security Measures Will Be Deployed At Edgbaston For Avoiding Any Racial Abuse In Future
Indian Test team failed to grab the chance of winning a Test series on English soil as they lost the fifth rescheduled Test match against England by seven wickets. Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow played a gem of innings as they chased down their highest ever target of 378 runs.
However, during this match, Indian fans dealt with some abusive comments from the English fans. This incident did not go well for those supporters as it also showed the current situation of the existing security measures at Edgbaston.

Warwickshire revealed that new security measures will be considered to avoid such racist incidents in the near future. Speaking of that incident in the Test match, Stuart Cain, Warwickshire’s chief executive, said: “Nearly 100,000 people watched one of the most exciting Test matches in recent history earlier this week. But we cannot hide from the mindless racist abuse experienced by some fans following India in the Eric Hollies Stand.”
He also added that they will work further to ensure everyone’s safety. “These unacceptable actions by a small number of people have over-shadowed a superb sporting contest, and those responsible do not deserve to be part of the cricket family. We need to work harder as people, as well as a venue, to take responsibility for ensuring that everyone feels safe and welcome when watching the game.” Stuart added.
England captain also shared his disappointment regarding this incident on his official Twitter account.
Amazing week on the pitch but really disappointed to hear reports of racist abuse at Edgbaston. Absolutely no place for it in the game. Hope all the fans at the white-ball series have a brilliant time and create a party atmosphere. That's what cricket's about!!

Stuart also said that it made him angry and now, they will work with extra motivation to make sure Edgbaston is a place for everyone. “I was angry that a minority of people thought it acceptable to racially abuse a group of fans who were following India and bringing great entertainment to the Hollies. “This has given the Club renewed energy and motivation to work even harder to make sure Edgbaston is a place for everyone – regardless of race, sex, gender, ability, or background. Meanwhile, I want to apologize directly to any fans who were subjected to racist abuse. Everyone at Edgbaston will work hard to do better, and they are welcome back with open arms in the future.” he concluded.
