Pakistan left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi has named three Indian batters as his dream hat-trick. Afridi also named the prized wicket he has picked in his career so far. He played against India in the last year’s T20 World Cup and picked three wickets which helped Pakistan beat India by 10 wickets. The left-arm pacer picked the wickets of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli.

In the first over of the game, he bowled a yorker to trap Sharma lbw. In his next over, he bowled an inswinger against Rahul, against which the batter had no answer and played around it to get clean bowled. In his fourth over and penultimate over of the Indian innings, he picked the wicket of Kohli, who was caught behind while trying to pull a slow bouncer by Afridi.

Interestingly, in a conversation with ESPNcricinfo on their show ’25 questions’, the 21-year-old picked these three batters as his dream hat-trick. He picked Kohli’s dismissal as his prized scalp so far.

Pakistan beat India for the first time in the history of T20 World Cups

In the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, Pakistan managed to beat India for the first time in the history of T20 World Cups. Asked to bat first, India managed to score 151/7, thanks to Virat Kohli (57) and Rishabh Pant (39). In reply, Pakistan chased down the target without losing any wicket with skipper Babar Azam (68*) and Mohammad Rizwan (79*) scoring half-centuries. Previously, both team had played each other on five occasions in the T20 World Cup in 2007, 2012, 2014, and 2016.

In 2007, Pakistan lost to India by 3-0 by the virtue of bowl-out in the group game. They played the final of that tournament with MS Dhoni-led side winning by five runs. In 2012, 2014, and 2016, the Men In Blue beat the Men In Green by eight, seven, and six wickets respectively, but that flawless record came to halt in 2021.
