Shaheen Afridi signs his initials on Indian Flag, picture goes viral
Pakistan has qualified for their semis of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022. After huffing and puffing their way and having a stroke of luck, the 2009 winners will play against New Zealand on November 9 in Sydney. Meanwhile, ahead of the first semifinal, Pakistan’s lead pacer Shaheen Afridi was asked by an Indian fan for an autograph. In return, the left-arm pacer didn’t disappoint the fan and signed on the Indian flag.
However, his ‘sweet’ gesture might land him in trouble. Apparently, according to the Indian Flag Code, no one can write anything on the flag. It comes under tampering according to the law. Even though Afridi might not be prosecuted but can come under the ire of Indian fans on social media. The image of the incident came to light after a journalist from Pakistan posted the picture on his Twitter account.

Shaheen Afridi hit form in the Super 12 game against Bangladesh
The former Pakistan U19 player wasn’t at his best in the initial games of the ongoing tournament. He was struggling to bowl with the pace and had to wait for three games to pick his first wicket of the tournament. In the games against arch-rivals India and Zimbabwe, he went wicketless. Notably, the 2009 winners lost both games.
Meanwhile, in the game against the Netherlands, the left-arm pacer took his first wicket of the tournament. Notably, the team won the game. After this, his notable contribution came against Bangladesh. In this game, he hit his form with the ball with a four-wicket haul. In the ongoing semifinal game against New Zealand, he has picked the wicket of Finn Allen with the full-length inswinger. The first over from him was filled with drama.
Apparently, he got the wicket of Allen in the second ball of the game. However, the DRS showed that the ball was hitting the bat. After this, Afridi once again trapped the New Zealand batter and was lucky on the second attempt.
