“South Indian Dravid Favouring North Indian Cricketers” – Fans Blame The Indian Team Management For Selecting North Indian Cricketers After Sanju Samson’s Exclusion Again
The Indian Test team is currently busy playing the fifth rescheduled Test against England at Edgbaston in Birmingham. However, after this match, India is also scheduled to play a three-match T20I and a three-match ODI series respectively. Before the start of this match, the Indian Cricket Board announced the squads for the rest of the Tour.
However, for the first T20I match, the same squad players were selected who were busy playing the two-match T20I series against Ireland. Only Rohit Sharma was added as the captain of the side. As of now, he missed the Test as he tested Covid-19 positive during the four-day warm-up match against Leicestershire earlier this week. On the eve of this ongoing Test, Rohit Sharma got ruled out and Jasprit Bumrah was named the captain.
However, for the next two T20Is and three ODIs, a strong squad was chosen by the selectors as big names like Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja were added. But, things did not go well for fans as they found out that Sanju Samson again missed out on the limited-overs squads. He just scored a beautiful fifty-plus knock in the Ireland series. Hence, it was shocking for his fans to see him not getting a place for the upcoming England tour. Fans took their social media platforms and blamed the Indian Cricket Board for supporting “North Indian” cricketers over “South Indians”. It all started with a tweet from the former Indian spinner Amit Mishra where he termed Jadeja as “Rajput Boy’ and in reply to that, this religion-based discussion popped up.
Speaking about his whole career, he had always failed to grab a continuous spot in the National Team set-up across all the formats. This is not the first time when a player from South India has been neglected like Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu. Even, fans blamed the Indian head coach Rahul Dravid to support only North Indian cricketers, being a South Indian himself. Even, they came up with such blames that the Board and the team selection committee have been discriminating against him.
Here is how Twitter users have reacted to this incident:
And the sword is out, Rajput boy Jadeja proving why he is one of the best all rounders India ever had in limited overs and test cricket. Go champ go! #EngvsInd pic.twitter.com/Y6JqRBTZlg

South indian Dravid favouring north indian cricketers instead of south indian Sanju Samson has brought shame to entire Dravidian Movement. If C. Natesa Mudaliar was alive today, he would have died again seeing this.

Rajputs and Bhramins are getting chances for India continously . OBC category players like Sanju Samson will get one match in a year. Better luck next birth, Sanju.

Jacob Martin, Tinu Yohannan, Sheldon Jackson, Robin Uthappa and now Sanju Samson. Coincidence?
Being South Indian is not the concern, there's something bigger here. If the Indian teams represents all Indians, BCCI has to look into it.#JusticeForSanjuSamson @BCCI @IamSanjuSamson— Joel John (@joel_john98) June 30, 2022
Selectors making south indian people fear about selecting cricket as their career by thier selections.
No Sanju Samson in 2 and 3 T20s and Odi squads.@IamSanjuSamson @BCCI #INDvsENG @RayuduAmbati #Cricket pic.twitter.com/uqZQDwZQJB— Sasi (@Sasi51225359) July 1, 2022
