‘Spin pitch banao par itna bhi nahi’ – Fans react to 4.8 degrees turn on tricky Indore pitch on Day 1 of Third Test vs Australia
After easily taking the first two Tests of the series, India has already defended its Border-Gavaskar Trophy. With the rout in the first two Tests, a clean sweep of the powerful Aussies seems more than certain. Due to the absence of several significant stars for the remainder of the series, the Australian camp’s confidence is also pretty low.
The third Test in the Border Gavaskar Trophy has already been making news for a while. When Indian skipper Rohit revealed the squad after winning the toss, the fans erupted in applause on social media to see the youthful and polished Shubman Gill take KL Rahul’s spot in the Test lineup.
How is the pitch behaving on the first day of the Indore Test?
India is in trouble after choosing to bat first against Australia in the third Test on Wednesday in Indore. Following the first two wickets of Rohit Sharma (12) and Shubman Gill (21) that Matt Kuhnemann had scalped, Nathan Lyon took out Cheteshwar Pujara for one. Together with them, India also lost Ravindra Jadeja for 4, and Shreyas Iyer was unable to access his account.
KS Bharat and Virat Kohli started to look comfortable and were playing the ball well. There is a lot of turn and bounce on this pitch and the average turn is approximately 4.8 degrees which is a lot considering it is a day one pitch. Virat Kohli lost his wicket to a good ball and was given out by the on field umpire. KS Bharat also got out to a similar ball and it was a good review by the visitors as the on-field call was not-out
Australian bowlers have been pretty great with their line and length and have not given any opportunity to the Indian batters to make themselves comfortable on such a pitch. All the three spinners, Todd Murphy, Matt Kuhnemann and Nathan Lyon have been amongst the wickets.
Kuhnemann, the left-arm off spinner has been the key player as he got the key wickets of skipper Rohit Sharma, young opener Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer. The forever great, Lyon scalped the wickets of Pujara, consistent all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and youngster KS Bharat.

Shreyas got out to the lowest turn that proves he is a better tiktoker than being a test match player

What kind of pitches are being made these days in India. Skewed heavily in favour of the bowlers and that too only spinners. No wonder why Indian Batsmen's averages have fallen.

Can somebody tell me why these indian batters play with bat behind the Pad in DRS era. This is a disastrous team as ever in history of cricket. Batting looks like so difficult for these frauds with bat in hand.
