Indian will be touring England for a lone Test match followed by three T20Is and Three ODIs. The Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma will be relieved to know that the dynamic English all-rounder Ben Stokes will not be taking part in the limited-overs series. The white-ball skipper of the English team, Eoin Morgan has confirmed that England will let Ben Stoked in the longest format of the game till November.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Morgan said- “Ben won’t play white-ball this summer. We just want him to go off and be him to go off and be himself as Test captain as it’s a huge responsibility. I don’t want Ben this summer, I want him in November. That’s when our race will be run.”

Notably, Stokes has recently been named as the captain of England team in Test cricket. He succeeded Joe Root after he stepped down from the role, as England managed to win only one match in their last 17 outings in the longest format of the game.

Sokes has taken up the reins of the team in dark times of England’s Test cricket. He will have to play a pivotal role in the revival of the Three Lions in the longest format of the game. This will be the reason that Stokes will not play white ball cricket before the T20 World Cup 2022 scheduled later this year in Australia.

In the same interview Morgan also hinted that they will be not be fielding a full-strength squad against India. Instead, they will look to experiment with the squad and look at their bench strength ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022.

“The India T20s will be great gauge of where we’re but the rest of the summer will be a delve in to the depth of what we have in county cricket considering the injuries we have with bowlers,”- said Morgan.
