Former India skipper, Virat Kohli is considered one of the greatest batters of the modern era. Not only on social media but all of his fans come in big numbers to support the 34-year-old. He has scored over 25,000 runs and 76 hundred in international cricket across all formats. On August 18, 2023, he completed 15 years in international cricket, having made his debut on this day in 2008 against Sri Lanka.

Kohli opened the innings along with Gautam Gambhir, becoming the youngest Indian to open while making his ODI debut. This record still hasn’t been broken. When it comes to non-debut games, players like Parthiv Patel, Yuvraj Singh, and Vinod Kambli have opened the innings for India while being younger than Kohli. However, Kohli went on to firmly establish himself as India’s No. 3 one-day cricket player throughout the years.
