Indian stalwart Virat Kohli will play his 100th Test match for the country when India take field against Sri Lanka in the first of the two-match Test series at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali starting from March 4 (Friday).
As Kohli stands on the door of an amazing milestone, former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has lauded him for reviving the longest format of the game. Pathan shared a post on his Instagram handle stating that the “Test cricket was limping till then it found a magical physio” in form of Virat Kohli.
The 33-year old has amassed a total of 7962 runs in 99 Tests he has played at a staggering average of 50.30. incuding 27 centuries and 28 fifties. Kohli will look to end his century drought in the upcoming match. For the unversed, Kohli’s last ton in international cricket was recorded way back in November 2019.

On March 2, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), also posted a heartfelt video on social media, paying their sincere tribute to the modern-day legend, Kohli, and congratulating him ahead of his landmark Test.
In another good news, BCCI had recently announced that the first Test match between India and Sri Lanka will not be played behind the closed doors as fans up to 50% stadium capacity will get to cheer for their favorite batter run-machine Kohli.
