Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj rocked the South African Team recently with their stellar bowling performances. Siraj took 6/15 in the first innings to bowl out South Africa for just 55 runs. Bumrah on the other hand took his third six-wicket haul in Tests to record figures of 6/61.

Australian pacers Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc too have picked six wickets in an innings on four occasions. Closer to home Ravindra Jadeja and Ishant Sharma too have achieved this feat quadruple times.

One of the best bowlers of this era, Kagiso Rabada has picked up six wickets in an innings on four occasions. His first came against England in Centurion during the 2016 Test which saw him pick 13 in the game. His fourth six-wicket haul came against West Indies in early 2023 where he picked 6/50.

Australia’s best-ever spinner since Shane Warne, Nathan Lyon recently became the latest entrant in the 500-wicket club. The 36-year-old has bowled his heart out for his national side. Lyon also performed well against some of the best spin-playing sides like India and Sri Lanka. The man from New South Wales has picked a Test six-wicket haul on five occasions.

3- Tim Southee – New Zealand – Five Occasions

Considered as one of the best swing bowlers of this era, there is no record that Tim Southee doesn’t hold. The 35-year-old is on the verge of becoming the second pacer from New Zealand to achieve 400 Test wickets. Tim Southee picked a six-wicket haul in Test cricket on five occasions which puts him in third in the list.

2- Taijul Islam – Bangladesh – Five Occasions

Bangladesh has produced many great spinners in the past but none of them have come close to Taijul Islam. The 31-year-old has played 44 Test Matches and picked 192 wickets with 12 fifers. On five occasions the left-arm-spinner has gone on to take six wickets in an innings. With 6/75 against New Zealand, Taijul recorded his fifth six-wicket the second most by any bowler who is currently active.

The best spinner in India and one of the greatest of all time, Ravichandran Ashwin creates magic with the ball. Making his Test debut in 2011, Ashwin picked a 6-wicket haul in his debut innings. it is no surprise the Chennai lad sits at the top of the tree as he has picked 6-wickets on 11 occasions. This is the most six-wicket haul in Test cricket history.
