The team management was later impressed by his pace including him in the squad during the second leg of the tournament. He made his debut in the match against Kolkata on 3rd October 2021.
Indian T20 League 2022 Performance: In the 14 matches Malik played in the Indian T20 League 2022, he picked up 22 wickets. His average for the season is 20.19 while his strike rate is 13.41.
ITL 2022 Record: He clocked 157 kmph in the tournament which is the fastest delivery for the 15th edition of the tournament. It is also the second-fastest delivery in the history of the tournament.
