In the ongoing India vs New Zealand second ODI, the home team has been dominant right from the onset. Apart from the India skipper Rohit Sharma forgetting what to do after winning the toss, the Men In Blue seems to have remembered everything that they needed to do. In the powerplay itself, the likes of Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, and Hardik Pandya shared five wickets among themselves.

While the Kiwi batters struggled to score and failed to put together big partnerships, the former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan took a hilarious dig at the NZ batters. He took to Twitter and raised his concerns about modern-day batters struggling in seam-friendly conditions. Apparently, the pitch dished out at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium in Raipur had lively grass. It looked like a four-day surface or a Test match surface.

“Modern day batters ke samne thoda ball hila or Garba chalu,” Irfan Pathan tweeted.

New Zealand was bowled out for 108 runs

Meanwhile, in the game, the Tom Latham-led side is having a forgettable day in the game. After being reduced to 15/5 in 10 overs, they failed to put up a competitive total, The likes of Michael Bracewell and Glenn Phillips put together 51 runs for the sixth wicket. However, when it looked like the team would recover from the early jolts, the former got out to Shami.

After this, Mitchell Santner came out to bat and added another 47 runs with Phillips. After the former’s wicket, at 103, the team was bowled out for 108, losing the last four wickets for five runs. Shami took three wickets while Washington Sundar and Pandya took two each. On the other hand, the likes of Siraj, Thakur, and Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket each. At the time of writing, India is set to win the game by a long margin. They have amassed 51 runs in just 9.4 overs, needing only 58 runs in the next 40.2 overs to take an unassailable lead in the three-match series.
