Indian cricket team will be playing the 20-20 World Cup in Australia in October and November later this year. They will be looking to get themselves fully prepared ahead of the showpiece event as the expectations are always high from the Men in Blue. Last year, they failed to make it to the knockouts after losing to Pakistan and New Zealand.

With Hardik Pandya carrying an injury, he was ineffective batting in the lower middle order. The team lacked quick runs in the final overs which is why the team could not put up competitive totals. This year, they would like to cover up that area and have a backup for Pandya. In this listicle, we will discuss three players who can be groomed as finishers for the showpiece event.

Three players who can be groomed as finishers

1. Shahrukh Khan

The Tamil Nadu player has the potential to become one of the best finishers for the Indian team due to his big-hitting ability. He is a fairly experienced player in the shortest format having played 57 games across tournaments. He has scored 645 runs, averaging 20.15 and striking at 129.25. The right-hander has played for Madurai Super Giant and Lyca Kovai Kings in the Tamil Nadu Premier League. Apart from this, he plays for his state team and Punjab in the Indian T20 League.

2. Rahul Tewatia

The all-rounder is vastly experienced, having played 95 T20 games for various teams in domestic cricket and the Indian T20 League. The left-hander has amassed 1306 runs, averaging 27.78 at a strike rate of 143.83. He has played for Haryana and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation in domestic cricket while he has represented Punjab, Rajasthan, and Delhi in the Indian T20 League. The 28-year-old is also a useful bowler with 54 wickets to his name. Tewatia has played a few gems in the last few seasons of the Indian T20 League, helping his team win from impossible situations.

3. Deepak Hooda

The Rohtak-born player made his debut for the Indian team in the limited-overs format early this year. Talking about his T20 career, he has played 152 games combined in domestic cricket and the Indian T20 League. The right-hander has got 2386 runs, averaging 23.86 and striking at 137.83 with the highest score of 108. He has played for teams like Rajasthan, Hyderabad, and Punjab in the Indian T20 League. Currently, he is playing for Lucknow and has performed exceptionally well for the team.
