The Indian T20 League mega auction is right around the corner. The two-day event will take place in Bangalore on February 12 and 13. Teams will be looking to build a fresh team keeping in mind a long-term vision. Last year, the longest-serving skipper for Bangalore, Virat Kohli decided to step down from captaincy. Also, he has also left Indian captaincy recently in all formats.

Shreyas Iyer
Shreyas Iyer has captained Delhi in seasons 2019 and 2020. He led a young team to the playoffs in 2019. This was the first time since 2012 when Delhi had qualified for the playoffs. Next year, the team went on to play the final. The Mumbai-born player has captained the team in 41 games, out of which team won 21, lost 18, and tied two. Last year, he was released by the franchise and it is likely that the team will spend big bucks to get the services of the right-hander.
2. David Warner
The Australia opener could be the biggest contender to captain Bangalore. Warner was sacked from the captaincy in the middle of the tournament playing for Hyderabad last year. The three-time Orange Cap winner was subsequently dropped from the playing XI. The left-hander has captained the team from 2015 to 2021 and captained Delhi on a temporary basis in 2013. In the 69 games as a skipper, he has won 35, lost 32, and tied two, with a win percentage of 52.17. The 2021 20-20 World Cup-winner also led the Hyderabad team to their maiden title in 2016, beating Bangalore in the final. He will be hungry to do well for any team, whether as a player or as a captain.
