The Rajasthan franchise has received a big blow as their star pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile has been ruled out of the Indian T20 League 2022. In his only appearance for the team in their opening clash against Hyderabad, the star pacer picked up an injury. He is now heading home due to the same and to being his recovery.

In 39 Indian T20 League matches that Coulter-Nile has played so far, he has picked up 38 wickets at an average of 22.92. His economy rate in the Indian T20 League is 7.70. His records speak of his utility as a bowler. Besides, he can also be very handy with the bat in the death phases.

Coulter-Nile was a big part of Rajasthan’s plan with his death over bowling abilities and handy batting. His absence will leave a big gap that the team will look to fulfill. These are the three players that Rajasthan can think of as a replacement for Coulter-Nile.

1. Colin de Grandhomme: Colin de Grandhomme is a medium pace bowler and a handy lower-order batter. He can squeeze in some overs for the team in the middle overs and can give strong finishes with the bat in the lower order, if and when the situation demands. In his Indian T20 League career, he has played 25 matches, his strike rate in those matches is 134.66. This speaks of his hitting abilities, while with the bowl he has 6 wickets and bowls with an economy of 8.86. His bowling records might not be too impressive but he can be a useful fifth bowling option for the team.

2. Scott Kuggeleijn: Scott Kuggeleijn is a Kiwi pacer. He is reputed to be a good new-ball bowler and also a decent performer in the death overs. He has appeared in only 2 Indian T20 League matches so far. But in his overall T20 career he has played 131 matches and has picked up 132 wickets in them. His average in the shortest format is an impressive 27.4 while bowling with an economy of 8.65. Therefore, he can be a useful replacement for Nathan Coulter-Nile.

3. Ben Cutting: Ben Cutting might be the best replacement for Nathan Coulter-Nile. The Aussie all rounder has featured in the Indian T20 League previously. In the 21 Indian T20 League matches that he has played so far, he has scored at a strike rate of 168.79. With the ball in hand, he has picked up 10 wickets in the 21 matches. His economy rate is quite high, reading 9.16 runs per over. But his handy contributions with the bat in the lower order can be useful for the Rajasthan team.
