The fourth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) is all set to begin on 30 July 2023 and the final is all set to take place on 20 August 2023. In the first match, defending champion, Jaffna Kings will take on Colombo Strikers in Colombo.

However, it will be a repeat of the last edition’s final game where the Jaffna franchise locked horns with the Colombo franchise (previously known as Colombo Stars). Notably, the Jaffna franchise have emerged victorious each time in three seasons (twice as Kings, once as Stallions).

Here are the top 5 International players to watch out for in the upcoming edition of LPL:

David Miller, Jaffna Kings

This explosive Protea batter is currently busy playing in the Major League Cricket (MLC) for Texas Super Kings (TSK). David Miller has failed to show his top form despite a fifty in the first game. In six games so far, he has scored 126 runs but still, he could be the player to watch out for Jaffna Kings.

Shakib Al Hasan, Galle Titans

This veteran Bangladesh all-rounder is currently busy playing in the Global T20 (GT20) league in Canada for Montreal Tigers (MT). In four matches so far, he has scored 102 runs including five wickets with the ball. His all-round performances have been instrumental in MT’s three wins out of four games. Hence, Galle Titans would hope to see him with such a form in LPL 2023 also.

Noor Ahmad, Dambulla Aura

This young Afghanistan spinner enjoyed a great IPL 2023 for Gujarat Titans (GT). He grabbed 16 wickets in 13 games, at an economy of 7.82. Currently, he is busy playing in the Zim Afro T10 tournament for Johannesburg Buffaloes (JBU). In seven matches so far, he has taken eight wickets. Therefore, he can play a vital role for Dambulla Aura in this upcoming edition of LPL.

Babar Azam, Colombo Strikers

The Pakistan skipper recently played a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. However, the series did not go well for him with the bat. But, in the white-ball format, Babar Azam is known for his immense capabilities. Hence, Colombo Strikers would hope for a remarkable season under Babar both as a skipper and a player.

Fakhar Zaman, B-Love Kandy

This explosive Pakistan opening batter could play a major role for B-Love Kandy. Fakhar Zaman is currently busy playing in the Global T20 (GT20) league in Canada for Vancouver Knights (VK). In three matches so far, he has scored 132 runs, including a fifty.
