The first match of the tournament, between Sri Lanka and Namibia, saw the former suffer a huge 55-run defeat as Namibia dominated with the ball. 5. Netherlands vs England- 2014
England had already been eliminated from contention for the semi-finals. To make matters worse, captain Stuart Broad was fined 15% of his match fees for criticising the umpires after the New Zealand match was allowed to continue despite thunderstorms.
England did well in Chattogram, limiting the Netherlands to 133-5 from 110-2 in 16 overs. Broad took the lead with 3-24. In the defence of the total, Mudassar Bukhari (3-12) took two wickets in two balls after the England openers had added 18. Logan van Beek (3-9) came in, and England was bowled out for 88 in 18 overs.
