The 20-20 World Cup 2022 is underway, and it has already seen some action-packed games. The first match of the tournament, between Sri Lanka and Namibia, saw the former suffer a huge 55-run defeat as Namibia dominated with the ball. Due to the nature of the shortest format, massive upsets are common. In this article, we will look at some of the biggest upsets in the 20-20 World Cup history.

 5. Netherlands vs England- 2014

England had already been eliminated from contention for the semi-finals. To make matters worse, captain Stuart Broad was fined 15% of his match fees for criticising the umpires after the New Zealand match was allowed to continue despite thunderstorms.

England did well in Chattogram, limiting the Netherlands to 133-5 from 110-2 in 16 overs. Broad took the lead with 3-24. In the defence of the total, Mudassar Bukhari (3-12) took two wickets in two balls after the England openers had added 18. Logan van Beek (3-9) came in, and England was bowled out for 88 in 18 overs.
