The ODI World Cup 2023 is finally over and Australia was crowned champions for the sixth time. Pat Cummins and his side beat India in the final by six wickets as Travis Head scored a sensational century.

8 – Sri Lanka lose to India by 302 runs –

Former World Cup winners Pakistan had never lost an ODI game to Afghanistan. This changed during the ODI World Cup 2023 game in Chennai as Afghanistan won the game by 8 wickets. Chasing 282 to win, the Afghanistan side won by eight wickets to send huge shockwaves through the tournament.

There was massive controversy when Angelo Mathews was given ‘Timed Out’ during the game versus Bangladesh. The former Sri Lankan skipper wasn’t really happy as the entire match turned into one huge debate.

Australia were 91/7 while chasing against Afghanistan in Mumbai when Glenn Maxwell took over. The 35-year-old battling cramps scored 201 not out to help his side to win the game by three wickets.

33-year-old Mohammed Shami was the hero with the ball for India as he was the highest wicket-taker during the ODI World Cup 2023. During the 1st-semi-finals of the ODI World Cup 2023, Mohammed Shami picked 7/57 to help India win by 70 runs and move into the finals of the tournament.

The 35-year-old during his knock of 117 versus New Zealand became the first batter to score 50 ODI centuries.
