Pakistan lost the final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 despite their bowlers fighting back. At a time when fans are praising the bowling attack, one of them has decided to pass some derogatory remarks on lead pacer, Shaheen Afridi. Apparently, the left-arm pacer sustained a knee injury while taking the catch of Harry Brook at long-off. At this point, he collapsed on the ground after taking the catch.

After taking some treatment, he came back to bowl only to pull out after bowling the first delivery of his first over. At this point, the Three Lions needed 41 runs off 29 balls. Even though the team had the option of bowling with Mohammad Nawaz, they decided to hand over the white Kookaburra to Iftikhar Ahmed. This proved costly as Ben Stokes scored 10 runs off the last two balls of the over. Eventually, the Green Brigade went on to lose the game by five wickets.

Meanwhile, a fan sent a statement to on A Sports which read “Coward Shaheen Afridi… you should have bowled 5 deliveries but like a coward you ran away from the ground.”

This statement fumes legendary Wasim Akram to no measure. He lost his cool and said “This guy… ye jo aap ka question hai. Aap ne badtameezi ki hai. Agar tumhe tameez nahi hai na, chhote bade ki… apne player ke saath tum badtameezi kar rahe ho. Koi sharam, koi haya nahi hai. (This question of yours. You have been insulting. You’re being rude to your own player? No shame, no remorse). Just have a look what he has said about Shaheen Afridi. I am fuming. I wish ki tu mere saamne hota (I wish you were in front of me,” a furious Akram said on air.

Meanwhile, Shaheen is set to miss the upcoming three-match Test series against England, followed by home series against New Zealand. Now, his return to the team is subjected to full rehabilitation.
