Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday (December 19) named India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant as the state’s brand ambassador. He took to Twitter to confirm the same. Dhami felt the 24-year-old is the right candidate and will encourage the youngsters to take sports.

“One of the best cricket players of India, the idol of youth and son of Uttarakhand, Rishabh Pant has been appointed as ‘State Brand Ambassador’ by our government with the aim of encouraging the youth of the state towards sports and public health,” tweeted Dhami in Hindi, along with the video.

The southpaw was delighted to get this opportunity and took to Twitter to thank Dhami. Pant also pledged that he will try to do his best in spreading sports among youth and others in Uttarakhand.

“Thank you @pushkardhami sir for giving me the opportunity to be the Brand Ambassador of promoting Sports and General Health among the people of Uttarakhand. I’ll do my best to spread this message and feeling happy that you are taking these steps towards a fitter India,” tweeted Pant.

“Coming from a small town of Roorkee, I am confident that the people here have the ability to make the country proud in various fields of life,” he added.

Pant was last seen in the T20I series against New Zealand. The southpaw is currently with the team for three-match Test series against South Africa starting on December 26. The 24-year-old is a vital player for India in the longest format of the game.

His ability to change the complexion of the game and win matches from any situation makes him a dangerous player. Pant can also play according to the situation, and help the team out of the precarious situation.
