Team India enters 2024 on the back of their dismal loss to South Africa in Centurion during the Boxing Day Test. It was a humiliating loss for the India Team with the game ending inside for three days.

The next challenge for team India is the second and final game of the Test Series versus South Africa. Rohit Sharma and his team will play the game in Cape Town starting on the 3rd of January.

Former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad has gone into retrospective mode lamenting the year gone by. The 54-year-old took to social media and penned down his thoughts where he wishes for a better 2024 for Team India.

Venkatesh Prasad has just one wish for Team India-

Taking to Twitter and speaking about the year 2023, Venkatesh Prasad was seen contemplating India’s fortunes. Team India had made to two major finals this year but failed to win each time.

The first was during the World Test Championships final versus Australia. Pat Cummins and his side easily won the contest to hand India a huge loss. This was the second successive final that India had lost.

A few months later the biggest blow was yet to come. Travis Head scored an amazing ton to help Australia win the ODI World Cup 2023 finals. This was Australia’s sixth ODI World Cup triumph which was dashing the hopes of a billion fans.

Venkatesh Prasad wrote “It’s been a year of ‘What could have been’ for Team India. Dominated the World Cup only to have a very bad day when it mattered in the finals. Lost the WTC finals as well. Travis Head was brilliant in both of these games. Hope in the coming year, India will start winning Championships which has eluded them for more than a decade now. Wishing the best for Team India in the coming year and always.”

In 2024 Team India will brace for the T20 World Cup in June to be held in the West Indies and the USA. The last time India won any global tournament was in 2013 when they held the Champions Trophy aloft. Despite making it to the semi-finals and finals, Team India hasn’t been able to crack open the formula to win the big titles.
