After winning the two-match Test series 1-0, India will now lock horns against West Indies in a three-match ODI series. The first match of the series will be played at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, in Barbados on Thursday, July 27, while the second fixture will be played on Saturday, July 29 at the same venue. The third and final encounter of the series will be played at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, in Trinidad.

The Men in Blue have dominated the Windies in the ODI format for a decade now. The Indian Cricket Team won 15 consecutive ODI bilateral series against the Caribbean. The last time the World Cup winners won a game against the Indian side was back in 2016. Ahead of the three-match ODI series, India’s top batters, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are on the verge of touching massive records in ODI cricket.

Rohit Sharma needs 175 runs to complete 10,000 runs in ODI cricket

The former India skipper, Virat Kohli requires only 102 runs in this series to complete 13,000 runs in  ODI cricket. If he achieves this feat, he will become the fifth batter and the second Indian to achieve this milestone. He has scored 12,898 runs in 274 ODIs at an average of 57.32 with 46 hundreds and 65 fifties. He also needs only four centuries to become the first-ever batter to score 50 centuries in ODI cricket history.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma needs just 175 runs to complete 10,000 runs in ODI cricket. He has scored 9,825 runs at an average of 48.25 with 30 centuries and 48 fifties. In ODI cricket, Rohit has a chance to join Kohli as the second-fastest player to 10,000 runs. After playing in 213 ODIs and 205 innings to reach the milestone, Kohli currently holds the record. With 266 ODIs and 259 innings, Sachin Tendulkar currently holds the second-fastest time.
