The Indian Team is gearing up for the rescheduled fifth Test match against England on July 1. Big players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were given rest in the T20I series against South Africa by keeping in mind this big series.
Therefore, these players had arrived in England and started their preparation for the Test. Even, India is also going to play a four-day warm-up match against Leicestershire. Already, they dealt with a massive setback with the news of Covid-19 infection to their top-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Some players like Rishabh Pant, and Shreyas Iyer started lately with the head coach Rahul Dravid. They will directly join the rest of the members in Leicestershire only. Speaking about the series, India is already leading the series by 2-1 as this last match got canceled last year due to the sudden outbreak of Covid-19. Hence, it got rescheduled for this time of the year as it will be a great opportunity for India to win a historic Test series on English soil after their devastating series loss in 2018 (4-1).
Virat batted in seven innings in this series where he scored 218 runs at an average of 31.14. He will look to add more runs to his tally in this remaining match.
