“Virat Kohli’s wretched run continues” – Fans Show Mixed Reactions On Twitter Again After Virat Kohli’s Dismissal In The Fifth Test

The Indian Test Team is currently playing that historical rescheduled Test match against England at Edgbaston in Birmingham. India was already leading the series at a margin of 2-1 from last year. Hence, this match holds the key for India to win a Test series on English soil.

On the other hand, England is coming off whitewashing the current World Test Champion New Zealand at their home in a three-Test match series. England was looking to revive their form in the red-ball format under this new management. The difference in approach under their new captain Ben Stokes and new coach Brendon McCullam worked wonders for them. Hence, they are in full confidence coming into this match to avoid a series loss against India.

Speaking about this match, England won the toss and asked India to bat first. As Rohit Sharma tested Covid-19 positive and was ruled out of this match, Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara came out to open the innings. But, the new opening pair of India did not work as India dealt with some major blows early in the innings. In this series, he scored 218 runs in seven innings, including two fifties.

Then, at number four, Virat Kohli came and looked in good touch. With some good leaves outside the off-stump line, he was looking in the groove for a good score. Before this series, he was given a rest after his Indian T20 League season with his Bangalore franchise. Hence, he was expected to have a better show after the much-required break from cricket. But, he lost his wicket to Matthew Potts by inside edging a deliver at the score of 11 off 19 balls. As he was having a wretched run of form since 2019, the Indian fans were expecting a hundred from him finally.
