Gujarat is currently playing their last league stage game against Bangalore at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Gujarat have already qualified for the playoffs and are currently sitting at number one position. There are a few players who haven’t made a great impact for the team this season. However, the team have continued to back them, despite their poor form.

Australian cricketer, Mathew Wade is one of those cricketers who has been continuously backed by the franchise despite his lean run. He looked good in the ongoing match and it looked like he would play a big knock, today. Wade scored two beautiful fours and also a six off Hazelwood in the 5th over to set his intentions quite clear.

However, on the second ball of the next over, he was given out leg-before off Glenn Maxwell. But Wade instantly reviewed the decision as he was sure that the ball had deflected off the bat. The ultra-edge interestingly didn’t show any spike as the ball passed the bat. The third umpire, as a result, stuck with the on-field umpire’s decision and gave him out.

Mathew Wade was livid with the decision but had to walk back to the pavilion disappointed. Upon reaching the dressing room, the Australian batter couldn’t control his emotions. He was seen breaking his bat in the dressing room and threw his helmet to the ground. You can see the video here.

Despite losing his wicket, Gujarat recovered pretty well and managed to compile a competitive score of 168 runs at the end of the first innings. Hardik Pandya starred with the bat as he notched his fourth half-century of the season. Pandya played an unbeaten knock of 62 runs in 47 balls, a knock which had 4 fours and 3 sixes. David Miller and Rashid Khan also made notable contribution of 34 (25) and 19*(6) respectively.
